February 3, 2009: Snow
Let it snow, let it snow, let is snow. Hang on, isn't it is bit late? Shouldn't we have had the white stuff at Christmas time. Ah well, better late than never. Yes, we have snow here in Wales. What a kafuffle!. A few inches of snow and the whole City of London ground to a halt. Canadians and Scandinavians will be wondering what all the fuss is about. After all, the snow we have had would be considered 'light flurries' or a spring snowfall in most places.

The dogs loved the snow, of course. Our youngest ones Cian, Steffi, Jenna, Mike, Tim, Bee, Swift and Jasper saw snow for the first time, while Meg, Ace, Sioux, Tina, Blade and Bailey are old hats. Bailey seemed to remember all her 'snow tricks' from her days in Canada so she was in her element. She particularly loved going out to feed the sheep on the quad bike and then dashing around in the snow with a stick in her mouth. Then she'd hop back onto the bike and squeeze as tight as she could between Kelvin and the bale of hay to warm up. Oh, a belated thank you to the many people who sent Bailey a new frisbee for Christmas. The glow in the dark ones with the iridescent colours are favourites and came in handy in the snow.

Snow seemed to make the little ones jump for joy! Ok, some were jumping on top of each other but others were jumping at any flake of snow they saw moving. As their feet got cold, the novelty wore off a bit so inside they would go for a sunbathe under a heat lamp...and then they would do it all over again. They will all sleep well tonight. Yippee!

Do ya think Steffi knows she's got snow on her nose?
