Self-Catering Holiday Accommodation (accommodates 5-6 people)
Self-catering holiday accommodation is available in our modest but comfortable stone cottage. The original part of the cottage is almost 150 years old, whilst the additions (kitchen etc) are much younger. It is a fairly typical small Welsh stone cottage.
The cottage consists of two double bedrooms with king sized beds in each, two sitting rooms (one with a king sized bed) and the other with a library, fully fitted kitchen, utility room with clothes washer, fridge/freezer, shower room, and a comfortable conservatory with dining table and sitting area (with additional sofa bed).
There is a large garden area to wander around (a wee bit wild in places!), a BBQ on our large outdoor deck, two ponds, and the Brechfa forest adjoining us so you can take a walk or mountain bike. We also have an excellent range of books, and children's books for our younger guests to enjoy.
Pricing information can be found here. We are open all year round. No smoking inside the cottage, please. Well behaved dogs are permitted in the cottage but are not permitted on the furniture or beds. Please leave the cottage clean and tidy prior to your departure. Thank you.
For the herding fans, training sheep are available and right outside your front door! No need to bundle your dogs into a car to go anywhere to train. Puppy training sheep and a smaller field for inexperienced dogs are also available. Because we are a working farm, we might have to move ewes and lambs to another field in order to use the hill areas for training purposes, or you may have to train on fields at the top of the farm if we are unable to move ewes and lambs from the main training field (if the weather is bad, for example). During lambing time, we only have yearling sheep available to train on and these can be variable in their behaviour! Quiet puppy training sheep may not be available during lambing time so please ask first.
We offer a wonderful base for those wanting to come to Wales to compete in sheepdog trials and train when not competing. Dogs of all breeds are welcome but must be kept under control at all times. Please pick up after your dogs. As a precaution, we recommend you vaccinate your dogs for kennel cough at least 3 days prior to your visit.
For mountain biking, hiking or running enthusiasts, the western edge of the Brecha Forest, site of the Brecha Forest Mountain Biking Trails, borders our top hayfield. There is access to these forest trails from the field. Shopping facilities, including a supermarket, are available in Carmarthen - just under 20 minutes away.
