Cade is an wonderful dog, level headed and unflappable, and yet he has an infectious enthusiasm and contagious zest for life. When working he is extremely cool headed. He will walk into the face of sheep and hold a terrific amount of pressure with a very calm manner. Being a kind dog to sheep, he easily 'makes friends' with sheep helping to keep them relaxed. He is a fantastic listener, much like his mother, and a dream to handle. Cade is always working with you and not against you, and is highly adaptable to any situation. He is happy to work for both us.

Cade started trialling in the nurseries in 2014 and was a consistent performer throughout the season. He finished 5th in the North Wales Nursery final, was Reserve South Wales Nursery champion and finished 3rd in the All Wales Nursery Final.

His first Open win came in his first year in Open in 2015 at the Wirswall Trial in North Wales. He went on to win three trials that year, including the highly competitive Libanus trial, and was a consistent top 6 finisher in many other trials.

In 2016, Kelvin started to run Cade in trials and was again consistently in the top 6 in many trials. Towards the end of the season, Angie 'borrowed' Cade at the Llandovery trial and won both the Open and Open South Wales events on the same day.

Back in Kelvin's hands since 2017, Cade has continued his good form with many Open placings. Early in the 2017 season, he qualified for the Berwen Double fetch final in North Wales, but with the final on a week day, Kelvin's work commitments prevented Cade from competing. Later in the season, he won the Llanarthne qualifying trial and competed in the double fetch final. Cade continued his consistency into the 2018 trial season, earning him the nickname of 'Mr Consistency.' Competing in both Open and Open South Wales trials, Cade racked up a string of good performances earning many top 6 placings. He won the SWSDTA Owen's Family Shield which is awarded to the highest pointed handler and dog in the South Wales style trials listed in the SWSDTA diary.

The 2019 season was somewhat of a breakthrough year for Cade. He started the season with a win at the Priory Farm trial early in the year, and followed that up with a good win at the Cwmdu Trial.

In North Wales, he won one of the qualifying trials for the huge Berwen Double Fetch final. Competing in that final, Cade got both packets of sheep and managed to complete the shed before timing out at the pen.

At the Shabden Park trials, Cade won one trial, placed well in three others, finishing 5th overall in the aggregate.

With the injury to Levi, Cade stepped up to be Kelvin's main dog and rewarded Kelvin with a fine 2nd place on Day 3 of the Welsh National, 6th place overall. Representing Wales at the International in Scotland was a terrific honour for Cade and recognition of his incredible consistency throughout his career to date. Cade rounded out the season with a good 4th place finish on the big Talgarreg Double fetch course, and a 6th place in the South Wales Open double fetch final, amongst several other placings.

With very little trialing in 2020 Cade moved into the 2021 with plenty of keeness to get back on the trial field. Still with a paucity of trials Cade managed to have consistent success throughout the resulting in him winning the SWSDTA Victor Ledorum for the highest pointed handler and dog in Open Trials in the calendar year.

We were all happy to get back to some normailty 2022 and a lot more trials back up and running. Cade's big success for the year was at the Welsh World Trial Qualification Trial. In the Double Fetch trial Cade finished 5th on his day making it onto the Welsh team to compete the World Sheepdog Trial in Ireland in 2023.
