Ciaran is a real pleasure to work. Always positive, Ciaran loves to work, can work all day long and always puts in an honest effort. While he is a plain type of dog, sheep like him and his calm disposition. Ciaran works equally as well for both of us on the trial field but is one of Angie's main work dogs at home.

Ciaran started his trialling career in the nurseries in 2017 where he won three of trials. He wa the 2017 Nursery Champion for Carmarthenshire and captained the winning Carmarthenshire team for the South Wales Nursery Championship. He finished 7th at the South Wales Nursery final and went on to finish 3rd overall at the All Wales Nursery final. He represented Wales at the Four Nations nursery final in 2018 and competed in the European Nursery Championships.

Ciaran only started in Open trials right at the end of the year in 2018 as we decided to stay home and finish his training and had his first placing in Open competiton at the last trial of the season.

He started the 2019 Open trial season in February with a very good second place at Priory Farm handled by Kelvin, and finished the year with a good win in the High Ash double fetch final in England and a placing at the Tynwern trial, both times handled by Angie. In between, at the Felindre trial, Angie handled him in the morning session of this trial and was placed in Open and Kelvin handled him in the afternoon session and was also placed...such is Ciaran's ability to adapt to different handlers.

In 2022 Kelvin and Ciaran achieved their biggest success together to date. At the Welsh National they lead the field on the first day with a score of 196. In the two following days this score was only bettered by two other dog/handler combinations. Thus, Ciaran and Kelvin finished third overall and qualified for their first Welsh team together.
